The international airport in Zurich is the largest one in Switzerland. It is located 13 kilometers north of the city center. It has been operating since April 1953 and consists of two terminal buildings. The Pier A is used by Swiss International Air Lines and American airlines. The apron is situated at Pier B. The second terminal, known as Deck E is used by Swiss as well as by other airlines – over 80 in total. Both terminal buildings are connected by an underground train system.
In 2015, the airport served over 26.2 million passengers.

Bus
The airport is one of the best-connected areas in Switzerland. Thanks to the excellent public transport network, passengers can easily and quickly get from the airport to any place in Zurich. There are 16 bus lines connecting the airport with surrounding areas.
The bus stands are located near the B car park.
Tram
The tram no. 10 goes directly from the airport to the main railway station in Zurich (via Glattpark, Oerlikon, and Irchel).
The tram no. 12 will take you from the airport to the Stettbach station via Glattbrugg and Wallisellen. It runs every 15 minutes and has several stops along the way, allowing passengers to interchange.
Rail
The Zürich-Kloten airport can be accessed directly from Basel, Bern, Geneva, Konstanz, Lausanne, Lucerne, St. Gallen, and Zug by SBB CFF FFC, the national railway company of Switzerland. Trains run every 30 minutes. The ticket office is open 6.15 am-10.30 pm. Passengers can also buy tickets from vending machines in the customs halls 1 and 2 as well as from machines available next to the SBB travel center.

Bus, train, and tram tickets can be purchased from SBB vending machines, at one of the ticket offices, in the Service Center, on the Internet and using a smartphone.
The taxi stands are located right in front of Arrivals 1 and 2. Service is provided by licensed Airport Taxis. Taking a cab from the airport to the city center will cost around 70 CHF (€56). Credit cards are accepted in all vehicles; drivers are multilingual. Taxi can be booked in advance by phone – 0848 850 852.

The airport is surrounded by a network of highways, offering an excellent connection to Zurich, Bern, Basel, and St. Gallen (A1 highway) as well as Kloten, Bülach, Schaffhausen, Glattbrugg, and Rümlang. Zürich-Kloten Airport is easily accessible from anywhere in the country – it is located just off A51 Highway running north-south, and other expressways.
