Peru
Peru, in the western part of South America on the Pacific Ocean, borders Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia and Chile. Lima, its capital, is the cultural centre of the country. Peru is made up of three main regions, the Costa, the Sierra and the Selva, each with its own distinct climate. The coast is dry with the garua fog, the Andes have a mountain climate, and the Amazon is humid and equatorial. The best time to visit is from May to September, when there is less rain and temperatures are pleasant.
